Notions

Notions explores the warping of reality caused by the present and the past merging to become seamlessly intertwined. Created as a response to hidden memories and excavated intergenerational wounds, the body of work represents how the boundaries between reality and the subconscious become blurred.

Experimenting with both a digital scanner and the analog chromoskedasic sabattier process, chance and serendipity are allowed to shape the final image. The blankness of a void gives way to unexpected imagery, gestures and distortions, oftentimes barely legible. The resulting photographs reveal a veiled reality, distorted and reassembled. Notions attempts to fold and layer time, unlocking new possibilities amongst old stories.
